Interstate Moving & Storage ripoff Fraud late dishonest damaged items Doraville Georgia

I contacted Interstate moving via the internet and was sent a quote based on the weight estimate that I recieved from 3 other movers that actually came to my home and gave me an estimated weight.

The movers showed up on the date arranged for packing and loading the truck with a Penske rental truck. They had a story that their truck was damaged and that they would load my items into the rental truck and then put it in a storage unit and load it onto a semi truck trailer for shipment. This seemed fine since I was going to have them store my household goods for 2 months anyway.

This is where the lies started. When I was able to purchase a house in Utah I called and set up a time w/Interstate for delivery w/Manny. The date came and went and no truck. I called Manny & Ron (the owner) almost daily and was told by him that Interstate had 30 days from the date that I had scheduled with him to deliver my goods.

The lease on my temporary rental was now up and I had to make other arrangements for housing. We set another date and they missed this date. I called Manny daily to no avail. Edna the sales rep could hardly speak english and wouldn't talk to me at all. 2 weeks late my goods arrived, and guess what the drivers were driving 2 penske rental trucks.

The lead driver ElDad left the trucks running and jumped out and demanded payment in Cashiers check or American express. The bill that he presented was over $2,000 more than the initial quote. He said that the weight came in more than the estimate but he didn't have a weight certificate from a certified scale because they hadn't weighed the truck. He said that we could go and weigh it, but it would cost more if we did. I asked if only my items were in the truck, and he said yes.

It ended up that my items only took up 1 and 1/2 of the 2 trucks and that someone elses items took up 1/2 of one of the trucks, so that if we did weight it it would be incorrect. They refused to take several items to the proper rooms and unloaded everything into my garage. My new king size mattress was tied to the back of one of the trucks with no covering except for the soaking wet moldy blanket that it was wrapped in.

The driver said that it was only water! The drivers didn't unwrap anything, so what I unwrapped I put the boxes and wrapping next to their truck and they said that they would take it, but when they put the last box in my garage, they jumped in their truckes and drove off! This company is
