Moving ripoff Overcharged failed to deliver everything and damaged my things that were delivered

I called several movers in Maryland to move my things from a storage facility there to my new home in Il. Leo, the sales rep from Dynamic was kind and very persuasive. I agreed to use their service.

After sending him the key to the storage locker, and $850, I advised I would be able to take delivery on or after 12/15/06.

They called wanting to deliver on 12/14 but I again emphasized 12.15 was the earliest. The balance would be $850 due on delivery.

I realized I was going to have a problem on 12/6 when I got a call from them (they were picking up my things on 12/6) telling me they had to "pack" several things and that the extra packing, boxes and tape would total $344.00! I complained that the only thing requiring packing was a TV, and they said either I agreed, or they would leave. Great, a rock and hard place.

I agreed, and they sent me an inventory of the supplies. 9 additional boxes, 12 rolls of tape and 20 feet of bubble wrap.

Twelve rolls of tape costing 58.80???

They did not deliver until 12/29/06 and then it was in a small truck packed with 2 loads. One driver, with no moving equipment had to unload my things from a truck with no automatic lift. They had hired a local day laborer to help unload.

Of the 50 inventoried boxes that we had catalogued when moving I received 42.8 boxes were missing! And there were only 2 boxes that they claimed to have packed (While charging me for 9), which meant 10 of my packed boxes were missing! Their inventory also reported all the boxes were "PBO" packed by owner, so where were the boxes they packed? And their inventory claimed that all the items were "SCR ALL" scratched all, but yet they claimed everything was already packed so how could they tell?

Then they claimed the weight was much higher than estimated and the $850 balance grew to $1600!
The dispatcher called and told me that the CASH had to be given the driver before they unloaded and I could inventory the goods. I said I should be able to make sure everything is there first. He said either pay or the driver would leave. He also told the driver to NOT assemble the bed etc, and to limit the delivery to 4 hours top. The driver helped me anyway, and probably lost his job for it.

The headboard was severely chipped, the wooden bench arm was broken off, there were boxes missing and I have lost some very precious items, clothes, and memoribilia. I am heart sick. The driver told both me and the temp day laborer he had been told to leave things off in order to make room for both loads. And Michael admitted it in an email that he had considered it, but claims he didn't.
To date, I have not received weight logs or been paid for damaged goods. Nor do I have my things.
Whatever you do, do NOT believe their website comments... Who knows who wrote them.
I learned a valuable lesson... Go with a reputable well known mover. I would have paid less ultimately, and had all my things in perfect condition.
