My Father-in-law has had Charter cable for over 20 years. We received an offer in the mail from Charter Communications, of a package including cable, internet, and home phone for $109.97 a month. Our bill has always been $88.81, and needing internet service, this seemed like a great offer. "Seemed" being the operative word here.
My Father-in-law is bedridden and cannot talk on the phone because he has trouble hearing. When I called to change the existing service, and add the internet and phone, they asked for the account number, name on the account, and the last four digits of the social security number on the account which i provided. The man i was speaking with never asked if i was on the account, or to speak with my Father-in-law, as he was obviously just eager to "sell" something.
On August 11th two techs arrived at our home, and basically threw all of the equipment into a jumbled mess underneath our living room television, I asked about a wireless modem for my computer, and was told that Charter did not offer that, and to purchase one at Walmart.
