I recently received an alleged debt of $800 from AFni saying that I owed this to Charter. Called Charter re: the debt, they told me they sold the account to Afni about 2.5 years ago, they have no idea what the debt is regarding of, and also they "purged, deleted" my records. If I want more info I would need to contact Afni. Contact Afni, Afni only has the amount of the debt and no other information. Afni tells me if I need more info about the debt I would need to contact Charter. AGain, called Charter, Charter gets irritated and tells me they don't have the record at all, the customer service rep from charter was rude and I was rude back however she hung up on me. Supervisor from Charter also tells me they no longer have the records and cannot tell me what the debt is about. I've been w / Charter for a very long time, if I supposedely had this debt from them why didn't they contact me and why didn't they cut off my cable service? Of course, Charter doesn't have the answers to my questions. I'm in the process of looking for a new service in the area, but until then I'm so frustrated about AFni and Charter Communications b/c none can tell me what the debt is.
