On August 30th, my husband arranged to have flowers delivered to me through his company. The order went out at 9 am and Benedicts Flowers received the order. Later that morning an employee from Benedicts called for directions. When I answered the phone she asked if I was Nichelle, I said yes. I was told there was a delivery on it's way and she was wondering if the driver would be able to get to my house, because the president was in my city that day.
I told her where the driver could enter our town houses, what businesses we were by/behind and which street to come in off of. I was kinda in shock, cause I have never had flowers sent to me, ever. I thought someone might be playing a joke on me so I said to the lady on the phone " Hmmmm... I wonder who would send me flowers..." She said "Phil". I was like, "oh". Well Phil got home at 4pm and the flowers still were not here. I said did you send me flowers? (he was looking around the house with a confused look on his face) He said yeah, where are they? I said who knows. Some lady called for directions, told me who sent them and I haven't gotten anything. He was like she told you?! I said yeah. He was furious.
He called the florist and left a message complaining that when people send flowers... It's usually a suprise, where are the flowers? And bla bla bla. The delivery finally made it to our house at 9:30 pm. The following morning I called the florist and spoke to the same lady that called me the first day. I told her that we were upset about the whole situation, and the least someone could have done was called us and apologized for the "inconveniance" (IT WAS NOT a cheap arrangement, it was a beautiful vased arrangement with star gazers, snap dragons, roses and other flowers.) and all she could do was put blame on me and everything else.
She said "it wasn't the drivers fault that I didn't have a street sign" and then she had the nerve to rudely say "your house doesn't even face the street! It's all the way in the back!" (DUH! I told her that on the phone, but I guess because my house doesn't face a street that I should be EXCLUDED from timely deliveries and good customer service! It's MY fault. Damn I should never have moved here!!! Why? Why me lord?! WHY a house in the back?! Ill never get a delivery again?! GIMMIE A BREAK!)
She then stated the driver had a hard time getting here because of the presidentail traffic. (by the way... ALL that was cleared up by 7:30pm and the traffic didnt get bad until 5:30pm) Then she tried to say I gave bad directions and that the driver drove around ALL day trying to get here and bla bla bla... Never an apology just a bunch of excuses and blame. She was very rude and unprofessional.
I called back a half hour later and asked for the name of a manager or owner and just to be a @#$%^ (I used to be a receptionist, I know what she was doing) she rudely said "ONE MOMENT!" and put me on hold so long I had to call back. When I called back I got grumpy with her and she said I was rude and gave me the name of the owner. Sandy. Can the driver read addresses? Ever heard of a map? Why didn't anyone call me back? The suprise was ruined anyways! No excuses... They just don't have a clue how to run a successful business or how to treat their customers like they are people. All they want is your money. Buyers beware!!
