Untimely delivery, very poor, argumentative customer service, ripoff

I placed a tele-order with Carter's for an arrangement of flowers to be delivered the next day. The following day the delivery driver arrived at the destination but did not have the flowers. He told the recipient he would return with them or deliver them to her residence that day. Neither was done, however, I received confirmation from Carter's of the delivery.

I left a telephone message inquiring about the situation and did not receive a message. The following day I received another delivery confirmation. I phoned the recipient who said she had still not received them.

Upon phoning the store, I was dealt with very rudely by an employee who claimed that it was the recipients fault they were not delivered the day before. Apparently one is suppose to remain at work until 7pm when expecting flowers.

The employee then claimed that the delivery driver attempted to deliver them the following day but no one answered the door. Three people were at the residence the entire day and all said that no florist had delivered any package the entire day.

The employee rudely told me they had attempted delivery and they had been left at the resident. The recipient has walked their entire property with no signs of the flowers.

The owner of Carter's will take no responsibility. I was offered no compensation nor any repeat shipments. I was instead told that it was the recipients fault.
