When my husband and i arrived at the j.W. Marriott at pennsylvania ave in downtown, d.C. Just yards from the white house it never occured to us that at the $40 a night mandatory parking, we would be a victim.
We were so tired when we arrived that i forgot my ipad in the back seat. When we asked to get it out 5 minutes later, we were told that we could not go to our car ourselves and that it would take up to 40 minutes for them to bring our car back.
We made several assumptions, 1.) that they were marriott employees, and 2.) that they were trust worthy.
We left our car in their garage for 48 hours and when we got it back my ipad was missing. They were very quick to let us know that they were not responsible for our car or its contents while it was in their care. If they are not responsible who is. Their manager on sight was rude and completely inept. Our windows were in tact, so know one smashed and grabbed my ipad.
I am still going through their "claims" system and hope that it will be resolved, but this company and the marriott hotel have been less than professional and should be reprimanded.
I only hope that i they will recognize their gross negligence, and reimburse me for my loss.
