To Whom It May Concern,
On August 3, I contracted with National Moving Network to have my belongings moved from Randolph, VT to San Francisco, CA on August 20. My certified moving consultant was Matthew Sandomir. On August 3, I paid a $500 deposit to confirm the move date and price.
This morning, with two days remaining until the move date, I received a phone call from representative Miguel Andrade explaining that National Moving Network would no longer be able to facilitate the move to California. He explained to me that the company they had contracted with is no longer able to pick up our stuff and have it in San Francisco within the estimated 2 weeks that I was promised when I contracted this move.
My partner and I, both recent law school grads, explained that this was unacceptable, that we have a contract for a move and that we have made plane tickets and other plans relying on this contract. Miguel explained that the best he could do for us is to have the stuff picked up in 4 days and have it delivered in 60 days, without offering a discount or compensation for our inconvenience.in the alternative, they offered to refund us the $500 deposit and cancel the move. Neither of these alternatives are acceptable.
We are suffering a huge financial loss and personal inconvenience due to this breach of contract.in addition to returning the deposit, we believe that the National Moving Network is obligated to compensate me for any reasonable additional costs I may accrue while making new arrangements for the relocation of my belongings. We are waiting to hear back from them, and hopefully their legal department because this is a open and shut contracts case.
