In Nov i contacted a company by the name von der musikstadt about rottweiler pups. I contacted them via email and they got back in touch with me. The woman's name was Rosann Bentley.
I asked her a little about her company and her rottweilers, she told me her rottweilers came from champion bloodlines, and that she's been breeding for over 10yrs, and that she feeds her dogs raw prey diet because its better for their coats, bones, and overall structure. She also stated that one of her bitches was so to be mated soon with her popular stud. I asked her how to got about purchasing a pup from her and she said that I had to put down a deposit of $250 so i said ok and that i would contact her later.
I finally did contact her again in Dec and she said that her bitch was pregnant and the expected due date was Jan 29th. So i said that i wanted a pup a male and i wanted to be in line for first pick. I procrastinated for awhile before contacting her again to give her the deposit.
Before i gave her the deposit i asked was the there any pups left on reserve and she said she already had alot of deposit on this letter but she would take my deposit anyway and put me in line for the next litter, which was due in feb.
So i sent her the $250 via money gram i called to inform her that the money was at any Walmart and that she could pick it up. She told me that when the pups were born that they all get colored code and i could track them on skype. I called to make sure she got the monies and she confirmed.
I contacted her again when it got close to the dogs time of delivery like atleast every week and nothing. Finally i called her Feb 7 and she told me that the pups were born and that the bitch only had 4 pups. Two males and Two females.
So she said i had to wait for the next litter and i was fine with that. Then she called me a saying a buyer had to pull out because they weren't ready to get a pup, so i was in luck. So without seeing my pup i chose the second male and asked her to dock his tail.
So i waited and kept looking on the website to see if i could see the pup i chose and put a deposit on and there was no pictures, none of the dogs were colored coded and she didn't send anything via skype. So i called her like every week to check on the pup and to see how he was doing with feeding and his growth. I also asked for pictures so she didn't pictures up until he was atleast 4wks cause she said she was waiting for his eyes to fully open.
She told me she was deworming the pups like every week and none of them displayed any signs of worms. I called her again to check on the pup because i still didn't receive anything via skype as i was told. She put another set of pics up when they were like 6wks. She told me that my pup had the best tempermant, and that he had the perfect confirmation of a champion rottweiler. She said that his back was short and his ears were short allowing his body to grow at the same rate as his ears. She said if she was keeping any of the pups it would definitely be him.
I called again to check on the pup and she stated that they had transitioned from mothers milk to raw prey diet consisting of chicken gizzards, chicken liver, chicken hearts, chicken neck and two eggs twice a week. She said that he ate slower than the other pups and that he was the only pup that was trained to the puppy pads.
She said that the pups would be ready to for shipment at 8weeks informing me that all the pups would have been dewormed and their parvovirus shot would be done and the only thing i would have to do is take him to the vet and get his check up, get his rabies shot at 12wks and then two booster shots. She said that the pups were tolerating the transition from mothers milk to raw prey well and that none of them had diarrhea but they did drop a lb but said that was normal.
She said that his paperwork and health certificate would come with him. I told her i wanted him to arrive on April 4th so i could give him to my son for his 7th birthday, she said no problem she would find out how much it was for him to be shipped and the cost of the health certificate. I called her later on before he was due to be shipped and told her i fell into to some financial difficulties and that i would have to delay on getting the pup on the 4th. So then i asked her if it was possible she could ship the pup and i make installment payments so that i could still surprise my son and she said no because they been ripped off before.
I called her on April 6th to let her no i had sent in another payment by money order for $625 and that i sent it via express mail overnight with confirmation delivery. She was good with that and then i inquired about my pup she said that he had picked up eating his food and that she was on her way out to feed them for lunch. I told her to contact me and let me know if she received the money order next day.
Well i got a miss call from her on the 7th and when i tried calling back she wouldn't answer. So then I got a miss call from her on the 8th and again I called her back and no answer. On neither of the calls she made did she leave a message. So now i began calling constantly back to back and texting her. She finally answer's my text and she says that she is in the e. R with her sister in law she'll call me when she is done. So i ask is everything is okay, she says we need to talk because it is very important.
So ask her is it about the pup? And she says Yes and Yes. So I ask what, is it that she wants to keep him, did he die, or if she sold him to someone else because they needed the money rite away? She didn't respond to my text. So i text her please answer me and then she text back I'll call you in 5mins.
So she calls me and she says that my pup died. I asked her what happened and she goes on with the story saying that on the 6th when i talked to her on the phone and she told me she was going out to feed the pups, that when she went out and put the food down my pup wouldn't get up. And that she took him to the vet in Pleasantville, TN.
So now I'm wondering why she didn't call me then. She says that she told the vet what happened when she went out to feed him. So he ask the routine questions did he eat anything and she says no. She then the vet takes a xray and tells her he has blockage and that they need to do surgury. So she pays him to do the surgury and the vet said it was successful and that he was going to keep him over the weekend for observation. That he would call her monday morning.
So why didn't she tell me this all when it happened. She then says that the vet called her on the 7th and told her the pup had died. She said that she told him of me and said that she gave him consent to give me any info i needed cause this was to be my pup.
So she goes on to tell me about this other pup that she is selling for her friend that is 12wks old and she would sell him half price to me. So i told her to let me talk to my family and i would call her back. When i told my boys they were devistated, crying and very upset. It took me awhile to calm them down.
So I called her back and told her we didn't want the 12wk old pup. I asked her too what would she had done if we would have received the pup on the 4th and then 3days later he died. She said i would give you a choice of picking from any litter or a refund. So i said we would wait for her other bitch litter. Which she was not due until May 19th and then we still have to wait 8wks after that.
She gave the name and number of the vet and told me to call him if i had questions. So I called him on monday and he said it was an unfortunate situation that the pup developed intussesception which is the small intestines rolling up into the colon and causing blockage of food that the pup still had his morning meal in him and that it wasn't digested. He said they did surgury but he didn't make it because he had a kinking in the small intestines and it was too much for him being so young.
So i didn't know what he was talking about so i googled the diagnosis and what it could have came from and it said that happens from carrying large numbers of intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, or whipworms. Viral parvovirus in puppies or bacterial gastroenteritis, or swallowing plastic, bone or wood can lead to this.
So i tell my husband and we then decide that we don't want another pup from her because she has not been honest with us from the beginning and now are pup is dead and my children are heart broken. So i call her and tell her what the family and i decided and she says i can only get the $625 that i sent her that i cant get my deposit because she had to tell her other customers that put the deposit down that they were being pushed back from 1st reserved cause of me an she lost a deposit. She said there are no refunds on deposits.
So i said but its not like we welched or breached an oral contract our pup died in your possession. So i asked her if she received the money order and she said yes and that she would send it back to me or i can take my receipt to the post office and get a refund cause she didn't cash it. Well that didn't go well. I went to the post office with my receipt to the money order and they said i would have to wait 60days for a refund. Then i did a search on the confirmation mail that i put on the money order when i sent it to her and it said that she received the money order on the 7th at 2:17p.
Now why didn't she call me and tell me she got the money order? And why didn't she tell me anything about my pup going to the vet or dying? So i call her and text her to tell her about the money order and she says she mailed it back to me and that she didn't cash it. I asked her why she didn't just sent it money gram she said because i had no need to cash it.
I have been waiting fot that money order since the 10th of April. I been calling her and texting her about it and she just gave me the run around. So then she finally calls me and tell me she got a call from her neighbor saying mail came to their house for her. She says it was the mail she sent to me that it came back to her and had on it that they tried to deliver it to me 3 times but i was not at home, she tells me this on May4th.
She lied about that because everyone knows that if you send mail regular you dont need no one to be home it just goes in the mail box like everyday mail. So she asked me if i wanted her to send it back to me or cash it and get a new money order and send it. I told her i would call her back. But before i could call her back to tell her to cash it and send it money gram she starts sending me all these pictures of money order stubs and names on a priority mail enevelope.
So she then says she cashed it and got a new money order and sent it priority mail overnight on May 5th. Ok i know priority mail that you priority mail is regular mail taking only 2-3 business days. She would have had to pay xtra money to send it the way i sent it to her which was express mail overnight with confirmatin and it ran me $18.95.
So i gave her the benefit of a doubt and waited but nothing came. I texted her and told her this and she still persist with her lie that she sent it. Impossible it is now the 16th of May and I still have nothing. I called the Tenneessee post office and explain the situation and he said what i said it only takes 2-3 business days and priority mail is regular mail.
This company is a SCAM please if you want a rottweiler pup DO NOT BUY OR ATTEMPT TO BUY from Rosann Bentley c/o Von der Musikstadt. She makes her web page glamourous and believable, she does nothing that she promising in regards to her pups, she tries to sell you sick pups, she hard up for cash and will not honor a oral contract. She is a habitual liar and she should not be able to sell any type of animal in this country. I am reporting her to the AKC and any other registery their is.
