I moved in to Chandler Court Townhomes September. From day one we have had nothing but problems here. 1st, the apartments are all seriously ant infested, with biting fire ants. Many residents agree that they do not do nearly enough to rid this place of this problem.
My 2 little children were covered in awful painful red bumps from being eaten alive in their sleep the first few nights. We went through numerous cans of Raid, set down many ant traps of every brand. Another tennant & friend, Elena at the time said her birds were in a cage on a stand in her bathroom & when she awoke they were covered & being eaten to death.
I had Burns Pest Control Co. Out here so many times I cannot count. They are ineffective too. There are many large ant hills all over the complex.
I also moved my mom in to a unit on the other side of the complex, being promised a $100 for the referral. It took me 5 months of fighting to get the credit to my account.
They also lost the money order for the deposit I paid & tried to bill me for it for several months. I finally had to write to corp office to get it resolved. I had a photo copy of the money order, which helped. But what if I hadn't? I would've lost my money for their MANAGERS error. I personally handed it to the manager, Victor.
The first month my mom was here, her hot water heater inside the storage room under the stairs - inside the apartement - burst & flooded the place. It took more than 1 phone call to the office for them to respond. They sent out a guy with a fan who lifted the carpet to blow it out. That is it. They never even came back to retack the carpet down.
The a/c has gone out & the vent above the washer & dryer has leaked water down into our laundry soap & destoryed it. It is moldy in there & whenever I do laundry I sneeze & get very congested since I am allergic to mold. They do nothing. It is still leaking right now.
Over the past 2 months I have seen 3 very large branches falls for no apparent reason off the huge eucaliptis trees & 1 fell on their carport cover & sat for a week before my husband moved it down & to the trash, where it still sits. 1 fell on my patio as I stood there & watched. My neighbor was there too. We couldn't believe it. Huge pieces of a tree just crashing down. It was NOT windy at all, there were no storms, it was on beautiful HOT Arizona days. The 3rd was the largest of all & it crashed on my brothers car who was visiting my apartment. The neighbor was outside washing his car & we were standing on the patio talking & boom.
I called the office immediately & reported this. They said they would pay to fix his car since it dented the hood of his '99 Buick Regal. Then corp office called him & said it was an act of God due to wind & storms in the area. BUT it was a beautiful non-windy summers day. THE NEIGHBOR WAS WASHING HIS CAR!!!
And to top it off lately, both my mom & I signed out 30 day notices given to me by VICTOR, the manager, & we turned them in together & now he's saying he lost my moms when the new complex called to verify residence.
I called Victor & he became very defensive when I asked him & said "I don't want to fight about it, just turn in another." But I wasn't fighting or even yelling.
I have had it with this place. Don't be suckered by free rent for a month or two, you get what you pay for & you will be miserable here. I would rather live in my car. I swear it.
I have talked to many neighbors who regret moving in & have seen several break their leases & pay $2000 just to get as far away from here as they could.
I ran into the assitant manager last night, off the grounds & she said she can't wait to move out of here, she doesn't like it either, & she is looking for a new job with Mark Taylor Properties because Equity is terrible. The maintenance man Andy, also quit because he said this place was a "hell hole".
I have written complaints to the corp office online & have yet to get a response. What can they say, sorry they suck?
I cannot wait to move at the end of this month. My mom cannot wait to move next month. She is moving a month early & still paying rent here, just to get out. How sad is that?
And they never once said anything about a 30day move in trial or whatever they are advertising now or I would have ran & ran fast! The people in #1277 I believe, have been fighting with the office because they want out after 3 months & have been complaining since day 1 about broken banisters on the stairs & ants etc & it wasnt til after their 30days that the office posted their little sign advertising it.
I have a sign of my own that is going on my car & being parked by the office all weekend. It states "Take it from a resident, turn around & go someplace else! See usacomplaints.com.Com for more information". Let's see how they like that.
