The Smoky Mountain Mansion tricked me into reserving a date for my wedding at the facilities. When provided a credit card number to "reserve" the date they charged me for the deposit of the wedding... $1950.00 We never approved this charge or signed any contract to confirm the transaction. They refuse to return our money because they say they reserved the date, required a deposit to do so and deserve the money. However, we never confirmed anything.
When trying to contact them within the "cancellation period of two weeks" they did not return our emails or phone correspondence. Once the "grace period" was over they refused to reimburse us because we did not "cancel within the grace period"... We were trying to... But they did not answer our requests! They have deceptive business practices and are immoral in their actions.
We have since taken them to court and lost on a technicality (my father sued instead of me). We did dispute the charge with our credit card company and were reimbursed by them. The Mansion, however is pursuing the money back from them due to the fact that they hold a ruling in their favor... On a technicality though. They will not get the money back unless they sue me... And then they would have to actually win! Not gonna happen!
Do not use this facility! They do not give you what you expect and they trick you into things without reason!
Immoral people!
