Breach of Contract - Wedding Event Ruined.
We rented a Mansion in Collins Ave. Miami Beach for our Wedding Event. We signed the contract, paid with our debit card $ 3.390. Oo for the use of the Mansion, from: 09/10/06 at 12:00 P.M., until: 09/11/06 at 3:00 P.M., and we made a deposit of TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($ 10.000. Oo), to cover for any incidentals, if any thing happened to the mansion.
In the contract says that (10) Ten people can sleep in the mansion, the service of a maid or gardener for 4 hours and did not say anything about paying for a maid to clean the mansion after the party.
On 09/06/06 the Director of Marketing of this mansion in Miami Beach, (www.1350collins.com), called us, telling us that they do not allow any body sleeping in the mansion, even the groom and the bride.
That if, we want the use of the mansion bedrooms; we have to pay One Thousand Dollars more.
We did not accept this extra charge, instead, rented rooms in the next door Hotel, 1340 Collins Ave., for our family coming from: Colombia, New York, Texas and Orlando.
This lady, Ms. Helen Leon, Director of Marketing, called us again the same day and told us, that we had to pay $ 400. Oo for the use of their gardener, as our greeter. We did not accept this either.
She called us again and told us that, we had to leave the Mansion in the same condition that we received it, or she will take from our Ten Thousand Dollars deposit, $ 600. Oo to pay a maid for cleaning after the party.
(In the original contract, not a thing says about any of this)
At this time my daughter started crying, (was almost 11 P.M.) and asked her, Ms. Leon, to please, check the contract, follow it and don't try to put us in this situation at this time.
The next morning, at 11 A.M. Ms. Helen Leon, Director of Marketing of La Maison Du Sud, LLC., from: [email protected] to our e-mail: [email protected]
the following message:
"Please be advised that the *Wedding Event* scheduled for this Sunday, September 10th has been cancelled by La Maison Du Sud, LLC... Any attempt to further pursue the rights of this event will be dismissed.
With this Breach of Contract and with the people invited, we had tu rush and find The Palms, 3025 Collins Ave. And paid more than $ 8.000. Oo for our wedding expenses, extras; plus, we lost a lot of money with all the food that we were going to prepare at the Mansion, (my father and mother, bought every thing, as a gift); plus the pain and aggravation of the bride that almost suffered a nervous breakdown, do to the fact of this Breach of Contract at the last moment from the Director of Marketing from this Mansion.
This people tried to keep our Ten Thousand Dollars, puting us againts a wall, at the last minute and we think, this is not the firt time they rip-off people with their "Mansion".
We need a good lawyer that will take our case with "Contingency Fees", because we are broke after this fiasco.
