While checking out at my local Wal*Mart, I asked the cashier to price check two Mission Impossible collector pack DVDs that contained the same 3 movies, but were packaged very differently. It turned out that despite their different appearances, both cost the same, so I selected one. The elderly cashier asked me to take the one I was not purchasing and set it aside behind me.

While I turned away to set aside the discarded DVD 3-pack, the cashier scanned the DVD set I choose to buy, which completed my purchase. I paid and let vthe store. The next day, I looked at my receipt, and saw that I was charged for the DVD set twice, even though I only got one. This is not the first time this has happened.

Several years ago it was common for items to get left on the round bag holder, when those were new. I would get home after a trip to Wal*Mart, and discover a missing item or two. Yet the item was on my receipt. Is double scanning the latest Wal*Mart rip-off, or inadvertent human errors? Does it happen at other stores? Do we all have to inventory our shopping carts and carefully read our receipts before leaving during every trip to Wal*Mart. (Good luck parents who bring screaming kids shopping).
