False advertising!

Wal-Mart have really pissed me off. They pick and choose what advertisement they want to honor. I am talking about their price guarantee. I use to enjoy shopping at Wal-Mart. Most times I would bring in ads from other companies so I can shop at one store and have the best prices. I thought that was the reason why Wal-Mart had that policy. I guess they do not honor that policy any more.

I had two crazy experiences that just gets me. It use to be that if you bring in your receipt from another company that they would match the price just as long as it states the item with the price. Well, I was told my a CSM that they no longer accept that. I was little upset because of the wasted gas. I just wished they would let the consumer know about the changes. But that experience happened some time ago, so I chalked that up to me. I told myself now I know and I made sure not to make that same mistake again. I was not mad and I continued to shop at Wal-Mart.

The second incident happened 6-11-08. I brought in another store add that gave me. 50 off on drinks. So I will be fair and honest, the add stated that if you buy 3 you get one free. I know Wal-Mart does not accept those because they claimed that they do not know what the price is with the discount. That same ad said the price, If you buy4 you will get the drinks for 2.50 each. I guess how the cashier acted added to my ill emotion. After she read studied the ad she just left the register. She then strolled toward the customer service counter. After she strolled back she said no. I asked her why and then she turned around and asked for the CSM to come over and explain why to me. Her, cashier, whole attitude was ugly. I was not rude or smart to her, I had my daughter with me so I was well behaved. Then the CSM proceded to tell me that she will not honor it. She stated that she can pick and choose what they wanted to honor and she chose not to honor it. Not once did she say it was because of the free soda. I was shocked on this. I told myself that I will not shop there anymore. If you advertise that you match prices, then you should state that you choose to honor what you want. Its misleading and in some cases ill-leagal.

I hear a lot on Wal-Mart and I have defended them on some, but to have a manager tell you that what they print is different then what they practice. I think it is plain dumb and it shows that they have lost what customer service means.
