This moving company did not keep their binding contract in any way.in spite of coordinating my move in ample time, it was a nightmare! The day before my move i Was notified they had not located a carrier for my move. I had to rent a U-Haul, secure a storage unit and find last minute help to move everything... And catch a flight from CA to PA early the next morning. My possessions were in the storage unit for one day, then picked up and taken to an 'undesignated' holding area. My belongins were delivered 19 days late, and one box was missing. When trying to reach AVL by phone I heard "this mailbox is full" messages, was told they could not contact the carrier and could not tell me exactly where my possessions were. Once I completed the claim form, I faxed it and was told they had not received my fax. So, I mailed the form by certified mail and it was returned to me. Upon the return of the form by mail, I called again and was then told they had received my claim form via the fax I had sent. The woman who phoned me (C.J.), stated she was prepared to reimburse... However had none of the info I had written on my claim form. When I requested to speak to her supervisor, she informed me she was the final authority. Needless to say, she was rude, unprofessional and far from ready to discuss reimbursement with me. I am yet awaiting reimbursement, and I moved on July 21. And so, much like those who have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company, I am writing reviews everywhere I possibly can, and also filed a complaint with the BBB... Though AVL is not accredited with the BBB. The only thing that will stop this scam of a company is if there is a class action suit. Although, we do know that what goes around eventually comes around.
