I met with with a local Clipper Magazine rep in July because I was interested in running my business on their online Double Take Deals. I was told it cost $400 & it included a 1/2 print ad in their magazine & the online Double Take Deal. Any money made by online sales of my deal would be deducted from $400 cost. Any money made above & beyond the $400 would be split 80% to the merchant & 20% to Clipper.
To offset the $400 I wrote Clipper a check for $400 with the understanding any money made on my online Double Take Deal would be split with Clipper 80/20.
The 1/2 page print ad ran in August but the online Double Take Deal never did. When I contacted the rep I was contacted back by her regional manager that she was no longer with the company. She did not sell 8 Double Take Deal merchant contracts therefor my promotion would not be run online.
This was NOT stated in the contract. I NEVER would have paid $400 for just a 1/2 print ad! They were intially contacted because I was interested in the online promotion. Clipper magazine did not hold up their end of the contract.
