Tempe Target Violates Customers 1st Amendment Rights and Commits Fraud

My wife and I were recently shopping in the Target store located in Tempe, Arizona. We made our purchases and paid with our Target Guest Card. Later that same evening, after dinner, we went to retrieve the DVDs we had purchased from our shopping bag but they were not there. I immediately checked my receipt and saw that I had paid for the 2 DVDs however they had not been given to me along with my other purchases. I immediately phoned the store and spoke with the Guest Team Leader. It took quite awhile for them to locate the DVDs (you would think, that the cashier having forgotten to give them to us would have set them aside with a note perhaps... NOT)! After waiting for nearly 30 minutes on hold I was advised that the DVDs had been located and that I couls come pick them up. I asked if I would be compensated for gas since it would be a special trip and he responded that something would be done to compensate me (notice I say HE, this would be the last time I would speak with a male employee, and, ironically this is where the major problem begins). The following day I went to the store to retrieve my DVDs from the Guest Services desk where I was told they would be held. I instead had to go through the same long, drawn-out explanation since this was now the dayshift I was dealing with and they apparently had no knowledge of the situation. My wife and I waited for over 30 minutes while the store manager reviewed the security tape after accusing me of being at fault and forgetting to collect my DVDs. After it became apparent that the cashier had NOT given me my merchandise she took my receipt and went back to the electronics department to pull the DVDs. When she returned (another 20 minutes later) I asked her how they could return to stock items which did not legally belong to them, once I had paid for the merchandise it had been converted to my personal property. The manager had difficulty understanding this concept and became irate. I then asked for compensation for making a special trip to the store to retrieve my purchases and she said that all she could offer me was. 06 cents a mile. At this point I requested to speak with her supervisor since this was leading absolutely nowhere. It had already been more than an hour and at no time was I or my wife offered an apology or explanation. I spoke with a woman who was supposedly the Target district Guest Services Supervisor and I explained the entire situation, she then took my number and said that she would call the store manager and then call me right back. I waited in the store Guest Services area for her return call, during this time I became aware of 2 men, 1 in a brown security guard uniform and 1 in plain clothes. They were staring at myself and my wife in a antagonistic manner and talking to each other. The manager then approached me and in a very rude, sarcastic and belligerent manner said, "is there anything else I can do for you"? I said no and she said okay, well maybe you should leave. At this point she said something to the security guards and they rushed up to myself and my wife screaming get out, get out! I then left the store and called the police who informed me that it was a civil matter and that I should take it up with the Target Corporate office, which is what I did. Since that date I have sent @100 emails, 25 letters, and have made 10 phone calls. Target has not responded other that to say that they are investigating and will not reveal to me what if any actions they will take. Meanwhile the 180 day window for filing a civil rights complaint is closing fast. Its quite obvious that the First Amendment means nothing to Target. I did absolutely nothing wrong, however, when I voiced my dissatisfaction they improperly imposed a trespass warning so they could get rid of me. Is this what I spent 22-plus years in the military for? So peons can urinate all over the Constitution of the United States. I urge everyone to reconsider their need to shop at Target. To Target's hierarchcy: You cannot continue to abuse your patrons in this manner. All eyes are on YOU!!! If you can treat a disabled veteran this way, then what chance do the rest of the public stand...
