My voice over the internet account was hacked and unauthorized charges were made to my credit card. I had not used my Skype account in a while at the time the account was hacked. My error: Saving my credit card number on Skype and allowing Auto Recharge for amounts of $10.00 when my account balance dropped below $2.00, and believing my Skype account was as secure as claimed. My computer remained secure but the Skype account was not secure enough to prevent hackers from gaining access and charging $560. Skype agrees my account was hacked but will not reimburse the charges or give me credit for the loss. My credit card company could not reach Skype via phone and refused to accept my claim for unauthorized charges. I cancelled the Auto Recharge feature on my Skype account, and will cancel my Skype account after burning my remaining credits, then I will cancel my credit card after paying off the unauthorized charges.
