In December I received a promotional phone call from MCI to try their DSL service. I was told that the first three months were free and that the only obligation I had was if I decided to discontinue the service I had to return the DSL equipment. If the equipment was not returned in good order I would be billed $150.00
Lo and behold it is now March. I decided not to use the service; and never installed the DSL equipment. I called today to find out where to return the equipment and was told I will be billed $150. For "breaking the contract" and would not be credited for the equipment's return for "at least two billing cycles".in addition, I have been billed for two months of DSL service which I had been told initially were for free. When I contested the billing for the service I was told that since I hadn't called sooner that only one month of billing would be taken off my bill.
When I asked the customer rep who was "helping" me to speak to her supervisor I was told I could not talk to her today but she would return my call in 24-72 hours! (P.S. It is now the next day and no call yet).
