I was called on Jan 20, by AT&T with an offer to save me money on my local service. The woman asked what I paid for my service with Verison. I told her $38, after taxes for 2 lines.
She came back and said she could offer unlimited local service for $29 for both lines. So I switched. I already had AT&T long distance and thought this would save me one more bill to pay as well.
I noiced right away that they had changed my long distance service from unlimited service to a service that chages. 10 a minute. Not a good deal when I call mu mother everynight and talk for 1/2 hour, and numerous other long distace calls throughout the weeks.
It took several weeks for them to fix this and I assumed that they would credit me for their error.
I got my bill today $232.28! Normal combined local and long distance never ran more than $65. They charged me $54 each for the local service and the rest was all the long distance calls I made when they switched my long distance.
At 7:30pm (friday Feb 27) I called the customer service, and was told by a recording that I should call back when the office is open between 6am and 9pm Mon-fri.
So, Adhere to the old adage, If it works don't touch it. And I will be taking their offer to go back to my old service, and I will be scrapping their long distance service as well.
