On 5.25.11 I went to Target to buy a Kindle e-reader that was advertised in their weekly ad and online for $114. I looked at the ad closely because Kindles with sponsor ads are that price anywhere they sell them. I wanted one without the ads. No where on the ad did it say with sponsor ads or special offers. I asked a worker about the Kindles and she started to get one out of the case. The sponsored ones sd $114. I told her I wanted one without the ads and she told me they were $139. I explained the ad did not say that one.
She looked and said I was correct. She then called for someone else and they sd the one I wanted was 139 because it had wi-fi. I told her they all had wi-fi. She sd that the 114 was the advertised one and only that one. I what the normal price was and she said $114. I asked why was it in the sale paper and I was told that it was advertised at that price but that did not mean it was on sale. I thought that was what a sale paper listed. She then asked someone else and they refused to sell the other one for the advertised price.
I then went to and bought an ad sponsored one after all.
When I came home I called customer service at the corp #. I told them why they lost a hundred dollar sale. The rep sd she would tell the advertising dept and corp. She agreed it was not worded correctly. Be careful of Target ads.
Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
