Ed Raad walked into Verizon Information Services in Columbus Ohio and told the sales force that their jobs were safe, and the company would stand by it's employees. He asked the staff to resist the temptation to form a union "As I can see no good reason to join a union. Not one". 24 hours later, the sales force understood very clearly the reason for union representation.
Ed Raad had his butt-munching flunkie from Mobile Alabama, Andy Smith do his dirty work for him. 3 days prior to Thanksgiving 2001 (that's right-the year the terrorists struck) Ed Raad fired the entire sales force. He immediately took a comfy vacation to Maui and played golf while he waited for the storm to blow over. He knew that potentially, someone might kick his ass for being a liar and a selfish scumbag. He wasn't going to risk that, so he vacationed while 45 people looked for work in the post 9-11 job market.
Ed Raad can be easily identified by a number of characteristics, physical and professional. Physically, he stands 5'5" and weighs about 120 lbs. He has greasy hair that he keeps slicked back in the Pat Reilly style. He completes his "pimp" ensemble with a gold pinky ring. I advise anyone to beware of this man. He is a practiced liar, and deceptive salesman. It is fairly easy to tell when he is being dishonest-if he is breathing-he is being dishonest.
Ed Raad would not hesitate for one moment to trample over any person in order to further his own career, or to get a free piece of ass aroound the office. That's right, he can't get laid on his own, so he uses his position to manipulate, and coerce the women in his charge.
Ed Raad's sales division has consistently underperformed expectations as well as finishing dead last in the Verizon/GTE/Bell Atlantic family of companies.
One technique Mr. Raad has employed is hiring sales people for the busy sales campaigns and then firing them once the major books have closed. This worked relatively well until his training expenses caught the attention of his superiors.
Now Mr. Raad has closed the high profile city offices and has relocated the sales offices to small, blue-collar towns. An example of this would be closing Columbus, and opening an office in the death row penitentiary town of Mansfield, Ohio. This enabled Ed to lower operating costs by paying less for office space, and lower wages to the point that they are comensurate with the unskilled workers that reside in these small towns.
I recommend NOT working for Verizon Information Services. Although Verizon is a great employer in other regions, Ed Raad's Southeast Division is diseased, and corrupt. His butt-buddies get ahead, while the hard working guys get screwed. If you are entereing the job market, don't waste your time with this scumbag or his cronies.
