Justin, a sales rep at American Van Lines East in Tampa FL gave guarenteed quote for full pack move and promised wardrobe boxes. They gave us one for 3 people and it had no hanger, just a large box.
On Jan 31 the movers disappeared for 45 minutes as we were leading them to the new home. Said they had to get something to drink. I had offered sodas and tea and water at our home. Then one took another 30 min to argue with us and cursed while the other two sat in the truck. Then the lead driver took another 30 minutes to fill out paperwork while the other two did nothing. They left an hour early and we were charged two hours overtime.
Full pack means they pack. They packed nothing. Left all clothes in closets, pots, pans, foods, storage shed contents, two glass table tops. We had to hire another mover Feb 1 to finish up the move. As a result of being there on the 1st., we were charged another months rent as things were still there.
Called Gill, the manager and he offered $79 back. We said we wanted at least the additional $159 for the two hours back. He said he would get back to us. This being Feb 14th, he has not contacted us yet.
It was a nightmare move. I have cancer and all three of us are elderly. We consider this elderly abuse and feel totally taken advantage of.
