Approximately one year ago, I signed up with Dish Network for their satellite programming service. The details were as follows:
2 year agreement
$40.99 per month
Free installation
Free moving installation / relocation of equipment
After one year, I called and wanted to move my equipment. The representative expressed sorrow... And said that the promotion ended; it now costs $109. Obviously when I signed up with Dish I was told that there were no moving costs associated, after which I locked in my rate for two years. That means that I purchased a product that was not supposed to change over 2 years. How would one feel if you purchased a product that you'll pay payments over two years, and in the middle of the period the product is altered? For example, when you purchase a car and make 60 payments, what would it be like if the dealer would take out the air conditioning unit on it, because the promotion ended? I would not recommend this company ever again to anyone. I would rather pay significantly more, but get better treatment. This is disrespectful to customers.
In essence, I made the decision to lock myself into a 2 year agreement based on the fact that the product would not change (e.G. Free moving); this has clearly been changed and now I am offered the option to pay. Thank you Dish Network.
