Smelled warm plastic, and examined crockpot. Plastic was leaking in the base. Examined to locate a point reduction within the plastic bottom. Exposed device to obtain the component had dropped down about the plastic base and was burning it. There's just one cut keeping the component wraps on the medial side of the framework and just one cover was going through it. Evidently another one was never underneath the cut because it gets no rough handling.
