The state of Texas decided in 2006 to make child support recipents go to a debit card instead of a paper check. Mostly to monitor what child support is being spent on.
I found out that the state I live in (not texas), the card was not useable at most locations. My child support was for an unusual uneven amount not divisible by 20. So even tho you are able to use the card at any Wells Fargo ATM machines, I could not get the full amount of support from the ATM. SO I canceled it and sent it back and went back to receiving paper checks.
Recently I decided to enroll in the debit card program what i found out was...
Someone got hold of the card I sent back, according to the EPPIcard people (bunch of incompentent dumbasses) And because I did not have a crystal ball to know this and dispute any charges that were made on the card, my son is now screwed out of 450.00!!!
Has anyone ever heard of a debit card allowing more than the amount that is on the card to be deducted? Because with a bank debit card if you have $100.00 dollars in your account, that is all that is allowed to be deducted. IF the electronic transaction amount is 100.01 then the transaction is denied. But not with the texas debit card, seems you can charge 1000.00 and it will go thru!
Anyone else have problems such as this with your child support in the state of texas.
