Neighbors Moving & Storage
Richard, Tedd, Vance, Jess, Jason Promised delivery dates, would not move my items into storage w/o additional $, called police

On Sept 2 (one day late) Neighbors Van Lines picked up my belongings, after I had paid an upfront fee of $696.20 and scheduled delivery was between 7-14 business days.
I phoned to check on delivery on Sept 13 and was told they were in Beaumont, Tx and I needed to have a cashiers check in the amount of $1592.00 ready in order for delivery. I asked Richard (who gave me the info) if this was the final balance due, dependent on weight etc. He assured me it was the final amount due.
The shipment never arrived. I was then told by Vance (whom I called) and he told me Friday, the 17th. I was to call Jason in Denver (dispatcher) to find out about further details. I was then told it would be the 24th of Sept. On September 22, I called Vance and was told they had been tracking the wrong truck.
I then called Jess (Denver dispatcher) and he assured me the delivery would be then the next week. The truck had broken down, they were a week behind, etc. Also was told the truck was in Ohio!
The next week, Sept 27th I was told it would be there either Thurs 30th or Fri Oct. 1.
On Sept 30th, the driver called to tell me he would be there Friday, he said he was in West Texas but didn't know where??? He also said I would owe additional money because weight had changed.
On Friday Oct 1, I met them at the storage unit, and 1) they couldn't get in the gates of the facility to access the door to my units. They charged me an additional fee for that. Then I asked what the "additional" cost was and he told me $4947.04. I was totally taken back by that and told him that I was told by Richard the total amount due was $1592.00. He said he didn't know Richard. I then asked for the bill of lading. He wanted it back and I told him not until we get this straightened out, he said it was his and he would call the police. I told him go ahead, but in the meantime things got a little frightening for me as I was the only one there with two big men wanting to take my belongings elsewhere until I paid. I then called the police.
The Spring Police told me there was nothing they could do, they had proof of weight, etc. But he did stay there til I could get straightened out.
I also called a friend who came up. I then agreed, not by my choice, to pay the difference.
In the meantime, calls were being made by me to try to get to Neighbors and no response, only voicemail. One of the movers called Neighbors and got through so I could give them my debit card info. Number, security code, etc. There was not enough money in my checking account, so I had to do a telephone transfer with my bank.
I also had to put into writing all the information they wanted, such as debit card #, security code, etc. I wrote on the form I did not agree with the price and gave it back to them.
They moved my belongings into the units.By that time, I had no choice in the matter; either pay or they would put my belongings in another unit until I paid.
This company committed fraud, threatened me, under duress. I am filing a complaint in hopes of obtaining some satisfaction.
Beware of this company, do not use this company!
I had to go to my bank that Sat. And cancel my debit card due to them having all my information.
