On June 26 my furniture was picked up from my previous home in Anaheim Hills, California with the intent to be delivered to Irving, TX. I was told my first available delivery date was June 30. At that time I was told by the movers that I should have no more than 2200 to 2300 LBS. But the movers said the estimated weight was 5500LBS. I questioned it, but he said that per my contract being non-binding it would be okay and this was the way he was suppose to fill out the paperwork. On July 6 I was contacted by Shaine (manager) I was told what my final bill was going to be at that point he told me that my total weight was 4390LBS and my final bill was going to be $2280.00 I told him that for the amount of belongings that I have my weight wasn't’t that much, I ask him how he weighed my things and he said that he estimated on the amount of boxes that I have at 40LBS per box comes out to be 4390LBS. At that point I did not argue with him I just wanted my belongings.
He (Shaine) also stated that my furniture would be delivering on July 9. On 7/9 I called Shaine to ask where furniture was, he said that he was still working on it and I should have my furniture on 7/14 for sure. I called on 7/15,7/16,7/17,7/19,7/20 all days no answer and no return phone call telling me where my furniture was. On 7/21 Shanie called me telling me that my furniture didn’t make it on the truck on 7/16 because my order was too large that they under estimated the actual weight. He said so he brought my furniture from Los Angeles to San Jose to his place of business because he need a larger truck for my furniture, said I would need a 26footer by myself and my new weight would be 8000LBS. He told me that he would be willing to remove the packing fee. I asked him what packing fee? I packed my own things the only thing that his company pack was my bedroom set and the Washer and dryer (because when I called and ask should I wrap those items he said no let his company take care of it, it was included in my move) at that point he got very cocky with me said that he was looking at the chairs that his company packed for me. I told him that I didn’t have any chairs he said according to the inventory that he had I have a dine net set and he was looking at it. I told him I didn’t have any Chairs or dine net set that he was looking at the wrong order, at that point I told him what my order consist of which is the following;
1. Cal King bedroom set (mattress, two box springs, Leather / wood headboard, two night stands, dress and mirror)
2. Washer and Dryer
3. Steel Bakers rack that shelves three
4. Steel round moon sofa table
5. Two bikes
6.54 boxes
7. TV and wood TV stand
I told him then there was no way my furniture came to 8000LBS let along 4390LBS I told him then I wanted to have it re-weight he said that he would do it and let me know. Also on 7/21 my uncle Frank Willis went to Door2Door Movers place of business to see if they really had my furniture he called me and told me that it was there and that Shaine was apology for the mistake that they had someone else’s furniture mixed up with mine. He said that he has separated all my belongings and that my furniture would be leaving on Friday 7/23. On 7/24 my uncle went back to Door2Door Movers Company to see if my furniture had left and it was still there.
Shaine told my uncle that the driver didn’t show up and he should be there later that day to move my things. On 7/26 my uncle went back to door2door with the police and Shaine told them that my furniture should be to me no later than 7/27. My Uncle went back on 7/27 asking what happen and why I haven’t received my furniture yet. Shaine told him that I would get my furniture on Wednesday 7/28. He also claim that the moving part or the driver and him has no communication and there was no way to contact them and its out of his hands. This Company has stoled all me and my son's belongings, on numerous occaisions I explain to him that I had just started a new job and I have no clothes all my clothes was on the truck and I needed them very badly. I have been force to buy new clothes (something I really can't afford right now just starting off) I don't know how I tell a twevel year old that all his belonging are gone.
