Was given a verbal quote on the phone for 28 to 30 feet of room on a 53 foot moving trailer from Duluth, Ga to Murrieta, CA. When the movers showed up the came with a smaller truck. When I asked the driver if he thought all of my stuff would fit he said yes with no problem. On the paperwork they did not use 28 to 30 feet they converted it to 960 cubic feet. If you do the math it doesn't come close. The driver closed the door on the truck and said that the company told them to go somewhere else with the rest of my stuff still in the house. After 5 or six hours of debating they finally told us we would have to pay an additional $2300.00 for them to come an get the rest of my stuff or they were going to take what they had to a warehouse and store it. I could come and get it when i paid the storage charges and the balance. We finally agreed to pay the extra money and again were promised a delivery date of July 1st or 2nd. When I called the day before the due date of delivery we were informed that the delivery date is a window date and they had 2 to 15 business days from that date to make delivery. When you read the fine print it does say that. Since that time we have called and asked them if there was any new information on delivery. We were told several different times that it will be there next week. When I asked if they were sure of that they said it is not here so it will be delivered. That never happened. We have been in our new home since July 1st with none of our belongings. We have tried on several occasions to get to someone of higher authority and have had no success. We have called the BBB the police and anyone else we could think of with no help. They now say it will be here by Weds or Thurs of this week and should receive a call 24 to 48 hours ahead, and if we don't get a call by Friday to let them know. (How that is supposed to work I don't know.) If there is anything you can do to help we would sure appreciate it. If nothing else maybe they can be stopped from doing the same thing to someone else. We have paid them 60% of the money in advance per their instructions. The balance is due upon arrival. Do I have any options? Please let me know!!!
