On 4/15/10 I was asked to see a potential client for the purpose of selling them a rainsoft water treatment system. I arrived at there home and after about 1 1/2 hours they purchased a rainsoft system. It was installed the next day.
The morning after the installation I received a phone call from the client at 1:30 am in the morning. She was crying on the phone because her kitchen was flooded with water from a leak in the system that carolina water systems improperly installed. (Previous to this sale and installation John Blum had assured me that there in house plumbers were licensed in the state of North carolina. He also assured me that one out of every 300 customers might complain about a leak. This was the first job and only job I sold for them. It's quite obvious that there plumbing department doesn't know what there doing.)
After receiving this phone call I immediately called John Blum on his cell #704-506-4173. John told and I quote" Oh don't worry about it we'll take care of it through our service department".
Then John called me later that day and told me and I quote " it wasn't even our fault. The drain for there system clogged up". My response was "There drain didn't clog and flood there kitchen before you installed the system". John again told me not to worry about it. He said I should just concentrate on selling and he would take care of the customers.
I decided that I couldn't work for a person like John Blum or a company like Carolina Water Systems. So left. John still owed me a comission on what I had sold. He had said that he would pay me 12% of the sale price (6880.00) which is $825.60. I have yet to see a dime from him. His ad for employment on craigslist says he pays 18% comissions. That a complete lie.
He is now saying that he is going to remove the system from the customers home so he doesn't have to pay me at all. It is illegal to remove a home improvement from a customers home once its been installed. But I don't think mister John Blum is very concerned about legalities.
On another occasion I was asked to take a fellow employee into the home with me. His name is Richard Forsythe. I was asked to take Richard Forsythe along so that he could see a demonstration of the product. Before we got to the homeowners residence Richard proceeded to start speaking very negatively. He started talking about all the horrible things he claimed had happened to him during his life. I had to tell him to keep his negative thoughts to himself. I reasoned with him that we were going to ask these people to spend almost $7000.00 with us and he needed to keep his negative thoughts to himself and just think positive thoughts. He said OK and we went on from there. Then 5 days later I received a message on my cell from someone calling himself Rich. He proceeded to threaten my life. I didn't recognize the name so I called the number back. After speaking to him for 30 seconds I recognized who it was, Richard Forsythe, John Blums employee from Rainfoft. He threatened to shoot me, Kill me and drown me. He also said that he had googled my name and found my address. He said he was coming for me and was going to kill me. After I hung up he called again and repeated the threats. I called John Blum and told him what happened. All he said was that "it wasn't his fault and he wasn't responsible for what his employees did". Never did he inquire about my safety or the safety of my family. I saved the two voicemails and contacted the sheriffs office where I live. I then contacted the magistrates office and swore out a magistrates warrant against Richard Forsythe. The Magistrate judge did a background check on Richard Forsythe and found 11 outstanding felony arrest warrants against him in Union County NC. The sheriffs office tried to find him to arrest him. He apparently has fled the juristiction. The only person who could have tipped him off was John Blum of Carolina water Systems. Mr. John Blum had told me that he did background checks on everyone he employed. Obviously that's a lie. Carolina water systems has no qualms about employing criminals and sending them into the homes of unsuspecting and trusting homeowners. John Blum also had Richard Forsythe working at more than one Home depot location in charlotte NC. I wonder if Home Depot knows that they have been allowing a criminal to approach there customers and solicit business from them.
Whatever you do, do not have anything to do with John Blum or Carolina Water Systems.in my opinion this is a criminal organization that preys on the unsuspecting homeowners. They really should be shut down.
