I bought a brand new Legacy double wide mobile home in late 2008 to replace one destroyed by hurricane Ike. Huge mistake. Within 5 months I discovered structural problems. It began with humps in the floors and has since progressed to bowed walls, cracked hardi panel siding and now black mold is growing in the walls where the siding cracks let in rain water. After repeated broken promises by Legacy to fix the problems, I filed a complaint with the Texas Dept. Of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA). TDHCA has performed three seperate inspections and ordered Legacy to fix the problems each time. They have even fined Legacy ($2500) for failure to comply. Legacy has sent people out to work on my home several times. At first they sent a contractor who turned out to be unlicensed and who (according to TDHCA) made things worse. Then they sent a crew from the factory, who was only authorized to address a small part of that which needs to be fixed.
