Seattle Coffee Direct Evanston, Illinois
Sapporito Charged Me AFTER Cancellation

I ordered a $5 trial that was to include 4 packs of coffee and I was given 10 days to cancel. During the ten day trial I received another shipment that I returned at their expense, unopened. I cancelled on 8/29 and was given a cancellation number with the assurance that I would receive no further shipments, nor would I be billed again.
However, in November, when my checking account suddenly went overdrawn, I found that a $79 dollar charge had been placed by Seattle Coffee Direct - and no merchandise had been received. I called and spoke with someone (I believe the name was Tasha, but I don't recall for sure) who assured me the refund would be forthcoming. "It will take about 2 billing cycles to see the refund." I told her that while I understand it can sometimes take days for credits to appear, there is no way that it should take 2 billing cycles! She assured me that it would be taken care of and there was no need for concern.
I waited from November until January - a fair amount of time, I think, for something that should have happened long ago. Calling the number I was given, 888-217-2233, I continually was placed on hold and told to wait for a representative. Imagine my surprise when I visited the website to find a message stating that the company is not taking new orders, not taking calls (DESPITE THEIR MESSAGE FOR CALLERS TO WAIT!) and if a refund is due, you must send an email to [email protected] and state your name, email, address, phone, and why you feel you are entitled to a refund. It states that someone will get back to you soon. However, my email resulted in an "out of office" reply.
I contacted my bank and they are investigating.in the meantime, they provisionally credited the $79 and put a future stop payment on any charges from Seattle Coffee Direct and Sapporito, which is apparently one of their other "DBA" names.
While I do not think anyone can join this service any more, I encourage you to avoid them at all costs.
