Ripped Me Off ripoff, charged my credit card for service I did not request, customer service reps rude to me, no customer service, ripoff abused & mistreated consumer fraud ripoff Thousand Oaks

I noticed two charges paid to WQ Long Distance on my credit card statement. I notified my credit card and was told the in total four charges had been made. I cancelled the credit card and was advised by the credit card service to contact the vendor (WQ Long Distance), which I did. The service rep to whom I spoke told me that she would enter a request for research and told me to call back in a few weeks.

I phoned WQ Long Distance this morning. The first customer service rep with whom I spoke told me conflicting things about the company - that they were a third party solicitor for another long distance company, then later that they were a provider of long distance service.

He told me that unfortunately, a company other than WQ LD had a recording of me accepting the long distance service for which I was billed. Now, I am rabid about telephone solicitation. I don't even take them. I say, "I don't take telephone solicitation, " and hang up. So, there is no way that I okayed this charge.

Well, first customer service rep this morning got very nasty with me. He told me that he had been recording our conversation (which is illegal in all states unless the caller is notified, which I had not been). Then he hung up on me when I asked to speak to a supervisor.

I called back and got another customer service rep, who was told me that before I spoke to a supervisor, I would have to tell him what the problem was. I told him. He employed some real nifty circulature reasoning as to why he could not allow me to talk to a supervisor. He told me that they never tape record their incoming calls. "So, [customer service rep #1] lied to me, " I said.

Finally, after doing some web search I found that WQ LD has many complaints. I'm going to get in touch with my state's attorney general and also report this to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (of which I am an associate member).
