Metro food at its best grocery store rude-unhelpful-terrible -attitude-avoid-metro grocery store

Let me start by saying that we spend over $500 a month in this store and this is the first time we have asked for anything. Today we shopped at METRO (Store #203) today spent $160 dollars on groceries paid with our debit card.
We arrived back at our home and began to eat our diner (The pre cooked BBQ chicken). The BBQ in store chicken we bought was dry and tasted terrible. The Basil we bought in a vacuum sealed bag was slimy. The Yogurt we bought was past expiry date. We returned the same evening about 2 hours later. We explained our problems to the clerk, who than called the manager. We than explained the ourselves once again. The acting manager was Elisha. She looked at the chicken which was missing one breast section (top piece only) "Whats wrong with the chicken she said with a rude undertone. Its very dry and does not taste fresh we explained." She than blurts out its half eaten!" What a joke, literally a small bite was all that was out were we suppose to return the eaten and chewed portion too!?

Than the yogurt was sealed and past the expiration date.in the meantime the clerk says do you mind if we keep your bill for refund purposes. All that was requested was a refund seeing as no fresh BBQ chickens were available and that if this tasted this way, chances are the rest would be the same. We had left our debit card at home. This so called Manager Elisha, flat out refused to refund our money!!!??!

We explained that debit is the same as cash. She offered a gift card, but I had explained to her that we wouldn't be shopping here again and we left without the card leaving all the items with them.in short instead of refunding our money and a few dollars she went out of her way to annoy us for doing virtually nothing. She was extremely impersonal unhelpful and unpleasant. Her attitude was truculent. It seemed the more dissatisfied we became the more she began to disport herself with trying to tell us "thats store policy". A truly vacuous person with no ability to help or communicate. The basil was in a sealed package. If you looked through the window anyone would see that it was not fresh and turning brown. We over looked this as we had bought 3 package. She than asks us with attitude " Is this the way you bought this?!?" No we exclaimed we let it go bad and resealed it! At this point it was more than apparent that she set out to piss us off. Elisha spent more time and energy photocopying our bill and trying to cover her tracks than simply serving the customer.
This store is brand new. It lacks many products that can be found at other stores in the area, the prices on many products are excessively higher. Having said that one would expect better service. And being a new store you would think that they care about their reputation in a new community. We even said we would post this online and she just looked at us with a smirk on her face like she could care less. Avoid shopping at METRO at Maple. Rude unhelpful grumpy managers like Elisha says it all. This person doesn't belong gainfully employed. How she could be a manager is beyond us. Elisha Definitely has a chip on her shoulder. We will notify the everyone in our neighborhood not to shop there. There are 4 NEW grocery stores in our area, a great thing for consumers. Rest assured when they read this, we hope they open their eyes and get rid of this person. Or promote her to working in the meat department behind closed doors where she belongs.
