This company is ridiculous! According to Danielle with Discover Enterprise I authorized, by phone, 24 charges of $39.96 to my MOTHER'S credit card! In August, my mom discovered charges that were made on her bank card when she looked at her statement and immediately called these companies to dispute them only to find out that they had it in my name. How in the world did they get my mom's bank card # and my name, phone number and address? We live 3 hours apart!
I remember getting some junk mail in June that thanked me for enrolling in quite a few different things, savings2go being one of them, that were being charged to "account ending in *". Well, I checked all of my credit cards and my husband's crdit cards and it didn't match any of them so I added it to our shred basket thinking it was just some scam trying to get my info... Boy was I right! But then my mom mentioned these charges she found on her statement and I remembered those letters and thankfully I hadn't shredded them yet so we immediately notified her bank but they didn't want to reimburse her since it was her daughter that supposedly made the charges. The bank wanted her to press charges against me! Finally, after faxing them everything we had and making statements her bank gave her back the money.
Now, here we are in November, and I jus recievced a letter from Discover Enterprise saying that my magazine membership is currently past due for $79.92 and has a space for my credit card # and signature on the bottom of the page. I thought this was all over with, but when I called and spoke with Danielle, who got very hostile with me, she informed me that I was put into colletions for $959.04 and that they have an audio recording of me saying I was authorized to make those charges to my mom's credit card. I immediately demanded to hear that audio recording but she said the Audio Department would have to contact me in 3-5 days to review that. Long story short, I am supposed to be able to hear it tomorrow morning because the girl in the audio ept. Didn't show up today... Suprising.
Not to mention they have been doing the whole run around with the different phone number thing. The letter said call 800-340-2457. I called, spoke to Danielle. Stephanie with the "Audio Dept." called and left a message saying to call 800-340-2754. I called that back and Danielle answered! Shocking I know! Then she told me to call 800-340-2457 again to speak to the audio people... I called that # and surprise surprise Danielle answered the phone!
I will get to the bottom of this. I know they have no such recording and will be reporting them to any and everyone I can. Also, while I was speaking to Danielle, I heard a woman yelling in the background, "I want everyone on the phone now!"... It's like a telemarketing sweatshop! Hope this helps someone like me, an honest law-abiding citizen trying to do what's right!
