I was new to retail and with no experience, I was hired by Zara. The store had a poor turnover so they constantly needed new people. When I was hired, it was an agreement that I will only work part time because I was a full time student. The schedule for school changes every semester, and Zara knows of this. However, about two months to the day i was hired, I was fired instantly, without notice and with only one warning regarding lateness. With that, it ended my term with Zara. I was fired because I could not meet the company's needs of working 30 hours the week school started. This point, I recognize is fitting of the company's poor turnover however, I did not question their decision. They needed to run a business, whatever. I did not give them adequate notice.

BUT! They still have not paid me fully for the time I did work for them! The first week I worked, I worked 31 hours. My first paycheck from the company, completely disregarded my first week of work. When I approached the manager, she told me this was company policy. I will get paid for the week eventually. Since I was new to retail, I did not make a fuss. I took the managers word and waited patiently until I quit or was fired (like she told me). Now that I was fired, I still have not received my pay for the first week. I approached them two weeks ago about this issue. They told me they will look into this problem. I repeatedly called the company... Still no response. So I had no choice but to look elsewhere to help me (usacomplaints.com). This maybe a little bit of money. My issue is not with the money. I have a problem with this company's lack of honesty and integrity. This store has poor management and poor treatment of employees. The turnover rate speaks for themselves. One manager in particular, first name begins with C, does not give a rats ass about her employees, often scheduling them when they can't work or have other commitments. I was a part time hire, she schedules me 30 hours the week I start school. She then refuses to change the schedule or hear employees out because shes too lazy to do her job. Shes the reason why I was fired over scheduling conflict with school. I was a good employee. I worked everyday I was scheduled. I did everything I was expected to do and better. My mistake was choosing school over Zara. I do not want to work for this company anymore. I just want my pay and they still won't give me the 300 I was entitled.
