I am 17 and a junior in high school. I have worked at Pizza Hut for 10 months. Up to 1 month ago I worked consistently M - Th 4:30p - 8:30p, Sun 2p - 8p. I did not call off. I came to work early. I worked later when needed. I was and am a good employee.
Five weeks ago, I went to work and there was a new supervisor (Heather). I was very nice in introducing myself to her when I came to work that day. She was rude toward me and the entire staff that evening. At some point I did make some sarcastic remarks to her.
The following week, my uncle died, and my family and I went to Florida for the week. Upon my return to Ohio, I went up to my job and apologized for my behavior. She could care less.
I learned immediately upon looking at my schedule that I was reduced to one day a week. When I asked her about this, she would not give me a reason. At this same time, a new employee was hired. He was given my exact hours. He also told me that he was told he was hired to replace me and that Heather did not believe I had a funeral to attend.
When 2 weeks passed with only 1 four hour shift each week, I called the manager above Heather, which is Shane. I told Shane of everything that happened and he said it was between me and Heather.
I asked Heather when I would be getting more hours and she said "you'll be the first one we call if we have any hours."
It has been 5 weeks and for the weeks schedule coming up, I was not given any hours. When I asked Heather about this, she said "you could always find another job."
I am at a lost as what to do. This is very unjustified. I am 17 and not experienced on how to handle this situation. If she was upset at me for being sarcastic toward her that first day, she should have written me up. But now she is just trying to push me out and forcing me to leave on my own.
