I reserved a truck on the internet and when it came time to confirm, no one contaced me. I called the 1-800 number several times only to be told the office is closed at 8pm, meanwhile I had been calling since 7:15pm and no one answered.
Bright and early the next day I called to get in touch with someone and finally I got an answer. The woman said the truck was ready and I could pick up at anytime.
The truck was located very far from my location and I settled a few things before going there. However on my drive there I call to make sure everything is in order and the man tells me that my truck is not going to be ready until 5pm.
This was very ignorant on u-haul's part. They tell me they have tried to contact me, but they contact me at an old number that I used with a prior reservation that was over a year old. I clearly instructed them to use a new number but they never used it and therefore inconvenieced me.
Eventually I got frustrated and found a mover for much cheaper. U-haul not only made my move more difficult but they reserved a truck for me gave it away, and expected that I travel 20 miles to get the truck that was more to my inconvenience.
I advise another moving company to all and never use U-haul again if you want things done efficiently.
