I got a call from Pinnacle Executive Group, they said they reviewd my resume (I assume they got it on line) and said they had a job that I would fit (I'm a computer programmer) and would I come in for a interview. Sure! I was asked to meet with a Richard Toomey at their Iselin office (they have 5, more later). I showed up filled out a application, and was introduced to Mr. Toomey, who said he was the President of the company.
He then proceded for the next 2 hours telling me why I needed his help Finding a job. He was good, smooth, said he lots of personal contacts and he could find me a job within 3-4 weeks. I was interested. Later at home, I did some research, checked out the BBB, Rippoff, no reports! But I did find out some disturbing info, Toomey said they had been in business for 10 years, I found out they had only been around since Nov. 2002.
Their other 4 offices (Parsippany, Red Bank, Saddle Brook, and Princeton) have no listings! I went up to Parsippany to check it out, NO CAREER OFFICES in the building!
I went to my 2nd Interview (now knowing it was a sales meeting), and confronted Toomey with the information I got. He was very uncomfortible, said they were having problems with the phones and said I must have gone to wrong floor in the building! He then asked me to wait and went out (as he went by me, he reaked of alcohol), and got a Alan Vilsalas, their head job counciler. Alan then told how great their program was and how he had helped many people like me over the last 4 years (remember they had only been around since Nov. 2002!) and I asked him about the other offices and what I found, he hemed and hawed and deferred to Toomey.
Needless to say, I did not sign up with Pinnacle Executive Group or fork over $6000 like they wanted. Deceptive luring in, lies right to my face, nonexistant offices, drunk employees...
Stay away from this company...
