Cross America Vanlines - North Pacific Vanlines Deceptive business practices, A scam!

Cross America Relocation company has violated numerous federal regulations. Did not supply the correct shipment documents, requested more than 110% of non-binding estimate, and delivered goods 2 weeks late from agreed date. Threatened by supervisior in company that my goods would be held hostage. Contacted above moving company to relocate goods from Texas to Maine. Received online quote from company stating charge would be ~$1200 and goods would have guaranteed delivery date of 7-14 business days. Company was late for pick-up and loaded the goods; truck was already half-way full with another load. Truck taken to weigh station and total weight found to be 15,000 pounds. Driver then subtracted 7,000 but did not state if that was the weight of the truck or the other goods. Driver stated that my load had a total weight of 7800 pounds (suspicious considering another company's estimate of 5000 pounds). Driver then informed me that I would be charged by volume versus weight as it was a lower charge and then stated I must sign the box stating "I waive the right to observe the re-weigh of this shipment" as I may be charged more in the future if they re-weigh the goods. At this time the company charged me $2546. Driver stated I would owe an additional $1263 at time of delivery, bringing total charges to ~$3810... Quite higher than stated quote. When goods were 1 week late (call placed 8/7) attempted to contact company. I spoke with Jaycob who stated he would need to speak to the general manager about this and that I would receive a call back later in day on 8/7 or morning of 8/8. Never received phone call. Attempted to contact numerous individuals within company but always received run around and promises of soon delivery. Began getting suspicious and reviewed the Bill of Lading. Noticed incomplete bill; company had blacked out the partial name of the company, company's address and phone number, and the number on the Bill of Lading. Being even more suspicious I began to search this company's credentials. I also reviewed the quote I received from the company. Spoke with driver on 8/13 when he stated that goods would be delivered tonight but only if I pay the remaining balance of $1200 in the form of money order. This was extremely surprising as we had previously agreed that I would pay with credit card. I was told that if I did not pay this amount by money order my goods would be held hostage and placed in storage unit... With myself being responsible for the bill. Attempted to negotiate with supervisior and stated my complaints and he hung up on me. When goods were to be delivered Jaycob again insisted that I pay by money order. I gave the driver the money order and goods were finally delivered at 11:00 pm on 8/13/09. Being extremely frustrated with the entire situation I called the company on 8/17/09 to get correct mailing address (I have seen at least 2 different ones). General manager, this time named Hara Johnson, stated he would not give it to me. When I asked to speak with Jaycob Krii and was told he was killed in an automobile accident. Funny, but Hara Johnson sounded just like Jaycob Krii. Will continue to do everything in my power to stop these scammers.
