Has a problem standing behind what they say

In April I called Direct TV to inquire about HD service. I was told by a very nice lady that because we have been with them over 12 years we are due for a "free" upgrade. Great. I set it up.

The day the installer was to come I took off work to be here, between 12-5. At 5:30 I called to see where the man was. Well to my surprise I was told the man came to my house and no one was home and did not answer the door. He said he tagged the door that he had been there.

The landmark he said was "trees in the front yard" and a "white door". Well, dud, I live in the country. Nearly everyone has a "white door" and trees. But, I have no trees in the front yard.

They could not get anyone to come out that day. When the repair man did come he admitted he did not know how to hook up the TV to HD. Oh my!

Then the bill came, for over $400.00. I thought it was an oversight and that it would be corrected. The next month when it wasn't I called. Then the stories started.

The customer service ladies were very arrogant and told me it was my fault. I should have called. Which I probably should have. I was told the charges would be taken off and that I would get a credit of $10 per month for a year to compenstate taking off work. Ok, problem solved! Wrong.

The next month my service was disconnected due to a past due account. When I called them, got the same run-around, transferred numerous times. I was told three different dollar amounts that I had to pay, then before I could get it turned back on. That was when I talked to the most hateful woman I have ever met. I have her name and number. I asked to have the service disconnected.

She transferred me to the disconnect department. WOW! Super nice people! Even for DirectTV. They told me I had to pay an amount way lower that the original lady had said. Because I wanted my service I paid it.

Well, now I am being threatened again to have my service disconnected because I still owe $26 in past due amount. I just paid what I was suppose to.

My husband called and it is suppose to be taken care of. Well, wrong again. It is still on my account. I am now getting calls from DirecTV about my "past due account".

How many times and how many stories am I going to get. I just want this fixed. I have never, never, had problems like this with DirecTV before. They have always been the best for customer service and reliability. What has happened.

Now I am afraid of more unexplained charges and lies being added to my account. Who do I believe and trust.

I don't want to leave DirecTV. I just want them to be honest, reliable, and friendly like they used to be and like their disconnect department.

I apologize for my not handling this correctly. But come-on, stop lying to be. Get this fixed and stop adding charges.
