If the Uverse reps come knocking on your door, offering you a 1-month free trial, be aware that if you sign up and decide not to stay with it within the 30-day period, you will still be billed $145. They will remove the charge when you call their customer service, but it will require 15-30 minutes and you will be transferred twice. From all my experiences with ATT, they make promotional offers which you will subsequently have to force them to honor.
We tried the Uverse package but found the internet unacceptably slow compared to Comcast. The TV package and DVR were superior to Comcast, but the internet was more important to us.
