Like many, I purchased a Directv HD receiver from Circuit City only to find out what a deceptive company Directv is:
1) No matter what you pay for a receiver from a 3rd party, you never own it, you will get charged a monthly fee for it over and above what you pay for the receiver and if you cancel service, you must send it back to them or face a hefty fine
2) Any equipment upgrade automatically puts you into a new 2-5 year contract if you cancel the service, they will automatically deduct anywhere from $300 - $800 from any account they can get their hands on (credit or bank account)
