Billing for services not due them

We dropped Directv. They billed us for the rest of a contract we were not told we were taking part of. A few months before we cancelled, we had bought a new HD20 receiver at our local Walmart. They never once said anything about lease. When we cancelled service they even said we could return the receiver because it had been less than 90 days. When we cancelled, Directv said that we needed to return the receiver, no money back on that ($104.66). They also said that we then owed $190 for the broken contract.

When we sent the receiver back we sent them a check for $100 and said that between the 2 they we could call it even. They then sent us to 3 different collcetion agencies. They still say we owe them $190. They never credited the $100 we sent them in the first place. We have all documentation showing that they cashed the check and received the box back.

This has been going on for more than a year.
