My wife and I decided to move into an apartment and we hired Werk Movers run by Doug Werk. Obvious lesson to the wise, you get what you pay for. We hired them to do a move that took exactly 3 hours and they charged for 3 and a half. They STOLE MY CREDIT CARD from my wallet, charged it at a later date for the same amount I paid them in cash for their "services", thinking I would not notice the same charge on my bank account. Obviously these guys are not very bright. As if that were not enough, Werk Movers STOLE my wife's digital camera out of our dresser drawer. I made numerous calls to Doug Werk regarding their "services" and what they had done, and he said "he would look into it". I think he accidentally picked up my call that day because after I called Doug Werk regarding his fraudulent practices, he never picked up my calls or answered my emails again. I have filed a chargeback with my credit card issuer for the fraudulent charge made by Doug Werk and Werk Movers. Unfortunately I cannot get my wife's digital camera back because I cannot get a hold of Doug Werk and his very unprofessional site or business card don't even list a physical address.
As if all this wasn't enough, they apparently don't understand what the word "fragile" means. I wrote in HUGE letters with black markers "FRAGILE" and wrote it on almost all sides of the boxes, only to have these idiots throw boxes around. They are so bold that they even did it IN FRONT OF ME! I literally had to go onto their truck myself and take much heavier boxes that were on the fragile boxes off on my own. I even told them repeatedly to be cautious with the boxes marked FRAGILE. These illiterate crooks of course didn't care, and now we are blessed with broken picture frames from our wedding, and broken glass everywhere in the boxes.
Virtually everything about them is a sham, even the "owned and operated by firefighters" part. When I asked Doug Werk who all was involved in the business, he said he was the sole owner who is a part-time firefighter and does moving on the side.
Basically folks, this one-man company is run by some kid who wants to make some money on the side and steal from people's houses. I have already filed to the Better Business Bureau regarding this creep and his company.
Werk Movers and Doug Werk are the most ignorant and bold crooks I have encountered and they will prey on anyone. SAVE YOURSELF a lot of headache, time, money, and your valuable possessions and stay away from these crooks.
