I worked for West Telemarketing and I hope to never go back. I refused to file an appeal because I would not work there again even if the recession claimed all other decent jobs! There was extremely rushed and forgetable "training" by a group of perverts, inexperienced instructors or people forced into the position vacated by people who no longer wanted the responsibility or were themselves fired. My trainer told us she was leaving and could care less is we 'got it or not!!! We often gave customers wrong information through no fault of our own. And the trainer, she left the company within 3 mos after we hit the call center floor! WE are the people forced to wear the headsets that are contaminated by previous users on the floor with limited information, work in a filtly, garbage filled call center covered with germs and sticky from candy, gum or even bar-b-que sauce causing the keys on the keyboards to stick. Once an employee next to me threw up I called OSHA and they somehow talked their way out of an investigation. They also made the person CLEAN UP THEIR OWN VOMIT!!! I got physically sick and raced to the restroom myself. I reported it all. Nothing was done!!! We couldn't believe it!!! All that afternoon, I had to stop people from sitting at that desk. It was not closed off or sanitized. I reported it to the head supervisors at the call center. No one came over. Even the custodian refused to sanitize the area!!! What the hell! The next day, someone was sitting at the same desk and once I saw remnants of vomit from the previous day, I told them to move and put up a sign to keep people from sitting there! So, we would give customers information that is not true and have trouble getting the help to avoid bad situations. I have almost on a DAILY basis had to complain about something that was wrong. I filed 3 separate complaints for sexual misconduct and harrassment... On the SAME PERSON!!! Employees around me openly talk about sex, clubs, drugs, baby-mama-drama all the time. Supervisors are fondling employees and making crude remarks, kids sitting in chairs together (girls on boys laps... Many have witnessed these events!) In fact, my boyfriends' neice who works there now is pregnant by a supervisor on the same job in the same call center. She is rumored to be the second girl pregnant by this guy. We know this baby is him. She was an agent at the time and they are trying to cover it up by moving her to a newly created job. This guy has had several complaints for sexual and inappropiate behavior and his supervisor Ms. Saladino loves him and I BELIEVE is attracted to him too... And she's married with kids. THEY ALL STILL WORK THERE!!! Fellow co-workers still there tell me it's gotten worse. I am a mature person and worked hard and needed my job badly. One of my good friends on this job just died from what is believed to be a heart attack. I have another in the hospital now from a stroke. We have complained to center managers and to the client, AT&T but apparently no one cares except for the people making all the money. How much more stress do we have to endure before someone takes a stand? This is my story and I can prove EVERY WORD!!!
