We hired Mike Gideo to resurface our pool in April. We chose Backyard Architect because he was a member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau. I should have been suspicious when he did not leave us a copy of the contract and we had to request it for more than a year before getting the BBB involved to get a poor copy of the front page minus the fine print on the back.
We were promised the pool we wanted and then were given a colored plaster that ran as the pool was being refilled. We had him do it again and got fewer runs, but still a poor job. Then he removed spa nozzles that took months to finally replace without notice. Within three months of finishing the job the entire pool color faded.
To add insult he charged materials to our credit card and overcharged us by $1000 in the end. We filed a complaint with the BBB and he didn't even respond to them for 6 months. He promised to stand by his warranty, which meant nothing. The BBB offered us arbitration, but we decided to take him to court.
