American Home Shield is refusing to pay for repairs to a furnace because one repair provider said he has to take out a piece of the duct work to get to the job. This is a central unit that has been worked on by other companies in the past with no reference to removal of duct work or structures. We has had to endure temperatures as low as 58 degrees in our living area for a few weeks, my wife has had to be hospitalized, my family has been miserable waiting on this furnace to be repaired. The repairman hired by AHS says that he can't conveniently get to the problem in the furnace and that the work area is too tight. He wants to charge me $200.00 cash to remove and replace the duct work so he has more room to work. AHS is backing his opinion and won't provide a second opinion repair company. We need to get our furnace fixed asap. Thank you.
