After going over my online bank statement, I noticed a debit to my account for $12.95. I thought it was odd, so I called the # that was next to the account. Last June a credit card company sent me a credit card which I cancelled and supposedly there was a free trial with vcomm, that I was not aware of. Although I cancelled the account, the vcomm was still active. I decided to pull all my bank statements for the past year and notice that $12.95 was taken out of my checking account each month. You are probably asking why I didn't notice this sooner, but I never did banking on line, and never looked at paper bank statements. Although i always balanced my check book, I can't say that I ever noticed the $12.95.
Before I found out that this was being taken out of my checking accunt each month, customer service told me that they can only re-imburse me for $10.00. I told them it was unacceptable and they said a service rep will call me to discuss further. That's when I pulled all my bank statements from June of 08 and realized all that money was deducted. It came to $116.55. I called my bank to dispute these charges and the bank told me they can only reimburse me for 3 months, and that I would have to get in touch with vcomm to get the difference.
When I called vcomm, they told me that since I contacted the bank, they were not going to reimburse me anything. The reason I am so upset, is not the money, it's the fact that these companies get away with this. I already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I am hoping that maybe something can be done with these unscrupulous companies that have no conscience or care about the hard working consume
