Privacy matters 123 - savingsmart, identity ripped off avoid getting your free credit report and being ripped off by these companies

We were getting a loan on a home we just purchased so I signed up for the "Free Credit Report" and noticed the next month I had a bill from Triple Advantage on my credit card bill. I immediately called Triple Advantage and cancelled the membership and thought that everything was taken care of.

I never received any more credit card bills so thought all was ok until I started getting nsf charges on my bank account that I hardly ever used. Since I don't use this bank I never paid attention to the bank statements. I started working on my taxes so was now looking at the bank statements and I became suspicious and contacted the bank and found out that for eight months or so I was having two non check withdrawals from my checking account for $29.95 each from privacy mattersidentity and also privacy matters123.com and two debit charges for $1.00 each for at least the past 8 months if not longer. I have been ripped off of money that I don't have and for services that I never did sign up for or want.

I just retired a year ago and feel that I have been ripped off of over $600.00 plus 4 NSF charges of $22.00 each.

I immediately called both of these companies and and talked to a representative who assured me my membership would be cancelled immediately. I spoke to an answering machine at SavingSmart and was also assured that my membership would be cancelled. I was given the name Brandon 21075 at PMI and the name Trish 17102 at privacymatters 123.

I immediately received three cancellation notices on my computer that were exactly the same notice word for word. It was obvious that all three companies are one and the same. I have sent all three companies a couple of e-mails demanding a refund and telling them just what I thought of their scams and deceitful ways to rob innocent people of their only money. They should be ashamed of themselves.

The irony of the whole situation is that these people are out to supposedly protect your identity and they are the culprits and the robbers. I told them I am not worried about the general public but am certainly worried that there are these types of people lurking the internet and scamming and taking everyone's money.

There are so many innocent people being robbed of their hard earned money and there are so many rip off reports filed, I can't understand why these companies are not shut down and the scammers locked up forever.

I have contacted my bank and was told to wait and see what this company says and if they plan on returning my money and if not to come in and file a fraud report with the bank and they will try and recover my money.

A hard lesson learned and everyone should avoid getting a "Free credit report" that could end up costing them thousands before they are all done plus lots of misery trying to get money returned that has been wrongfully taken.
